THE BOUJOURNE FOUNDATION
COMMUNITY CARE EVENTS

Community Cares Food Drive
On December 3rd, we held our Community Cares Food Drive at Navarro Middle School. This event not only provided much-needed food assistance but also aimed to educate the community about the valuable free or reduced services available to them. We were grateful to our community partners such as The Bridge Over Troubled Water, Clothed by Faith, El Centro de Corazon, VCare clinics, and Texas Tech Trade, who contributed their time and resources to make a positive impact. Together, we are strengthening our community and ensuring that everyone has access to essential services and support.
Boys to Men Group Home
This year, we have the honor and privilege of sponsoring a group for nine young boys in the foster system. We were delighted to provide them with Christmas presents, enjoy a wonderful lunch together, and engage in fun games. Most importantly, we aimed to show them love and support. Our entire team came together to let these boys know they are valued, cherished, and that we will be there for them.

Navarro Middle School Holiday Party
We are thrilled to host the Navarro Holiday Party for the third consecutive year! This special event promised to be a memorable celebration for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, featuring a movie, popcorn, crafts, games, and an exciting dance party. Each student took home a homemade ornament, delicious candies, and an Astros hat thanks to the generosity of the Astros Foundation. We are also excited that Sleek Multimedia donated a photo booth, allowing students to capture and share fun moments from the party!
Navarro Middle School Promotions
For the past three years, the Boujourne Foundation has had the incredible privilege of celebrating the students of Navarro Middle School as they reach an important milestone in their educational journey. Each year, we proudly help honor the 6th, 7th and the graduating 8th-grade class by sponsoring a celebration filled with food, music, dancing, games, and words of encouragement.

Leading Leopard Market
The Boujourne Foundation is a proud continued partner in this year long initiative along with Goya Cares and the Houston Food Bank as we believe that food accessibility should be available to all students and the local community at all times. We helped to transform an empty room within the school into a full blown food pantry and market where students can rely on this food resource anytime during the school year. Along with Leadership Houston Class XLI, the enhanced Leading Leopard Market will aid in increasing the number of families fed while providing key educational components that position the students to excel in school and develop skills for future retail job opportunities. Nutrition is Key to Success!

Game Room
We have created a free, accessible, and safe game room play space for the students who present good attendance and grades every six weeks to help encourage positive reinforcement. Currently, 86.5% of students are considered at risk of dropping out of school, and 52.1% of students are enrolled in bilingual and English language learning programs. We have created a space where murals, bright colors, and positive affirmations are displayed throughout the room. There are two gaming systems, large televisions, lounge seating, board games, a ping pong table, along with sport court flooring to set the game room tone. We are so excited that artist Israel Rodriguez graciously donated a Jeremy Peña Mural to the room.

Ribbon Cutting
We hosted a big ribbon cutting for the Game Room Launch this year.

We would like to thank our corporate sponsors for being a part of the successful event. We hope to continue the momentum with inspiring other campuses to foster leadership skills, mentorship and programming provided by the community and its leaders.
